Compare the services, permissions and plans you need.
Ploi and Depfloy both manage servers you own, with deployments, database backups and team permissions. Compare specific engines, operational workflows and plan requirements before deciding whether switching is worthwhile.
What you get on the servers you already own.
PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Valkey, ClickHouse and Meilisearch. Database, cache and search are provisioned as their own server roles, so each gets its own sizing, firewall and private-network access.
Six engines plus project files, scheduled to S3, Cloudflare R2, any S3-compatible endpoint, SFTP, FTP or local disk. Retention prunes old runs automatically, exclusion rules keep build artefacts out, and restore targets a database you pick. Ploi also provides scheduled database backups and restoration.
Streaming replication with slot management, lag tracked in bytes and seconds, and a clear view of which node is primary — plus PgBouncer with editable pool settings when connections outgrow the server.
A load balancer server carries its pool, backends, algorithm — round robin, least connections or IP hash — and SSL domains, so a second app node is a configuration change rather than a project.
Five roles plus per-resource scoping. A client's developer can be limited to a single server or a single project, on the Business plan. Ploi also provides permissions per user, server and site.
An MCP server lets Claude or any MCP client deploy, roll back, read logs and edit environment variables, bounded by the same role and token permissions as a person. The same operations ship in the CLI. The MCP server needs the Pro plan or above; the CLI and the REST API are on every plan.
Checked against their own pages.
Only the points we could cite. Every row links to where the Ploi side came from, with the date it was read — pricing and features move, and an undated claim about someone else's product ages badly.
| DIMENSION | DEPFLOY | PLOI |
|---|---|---|
| Database backup restoration | Scheduled backups and Console restore for six data engines and project files, from Pro. | Automatic database backups with restoration from supported storage providers. Checked Sep 5, 2026 → |
| Team access scope | Five roles with member scopes for selected servers or projects, on Business. | Permissions can be assigned per user, server and site. Checked Sep 5, 2026 → |
| Deployment limits | Deploys are not counted on any plan. | Unlimited on paid tiers; the free tier is capped at five deployments a month. Checked Jul 26, 2026 → |
| Free tier | A 7-day trial of the full product, no credit card. | A permanent free tier limited to one server and one site. Checked Jul 26, 2026 → |
| DNS records | Seven record types — A, AAAA, CNAME, TXT, MX, NS and CAA — on a Cloudflare account you connect, with the record for a new domain opened for you. Cloudflare is the only provider. | DNS management is described on the home page as adding A, AAAA, CNAME and TXT records from the panel. Checked Aug 25, 2026 → |
| Uptime monitoring | HTTP health checks on an interval you set — as fast as every five minutes on Starter, every 60 seconds from Pro up — plus heartbeats reported by scheduled jobs and background workers. On every plan, one of each on Starter. There is no status page. | Site monitoring and status pages are both listed on the $36 Unlimited tier only; the three tiers below it carry neither. Compare a real project against the supported services and plan limits. If your current setup already meets those requirements, the migration effort belongs in the decision alongside the subscription price.
